The Failure Of The GOP
For more than seven years we heard a fairly constant noise from Republican Party ranks that if only they had the majority in both Houses and a President who would sign off on the deal, they would rid America of the hated and unworkable Obamacare.
So what happened? We easily got rid of Obamacare, right?
The Republican Party representatives failed to live up to their key promises to the American people.
The cost of that failure will be an additional burden on the American taxpayer.
Seven Republican Senators betrayed their President, their party, and those who elected them. They voted against a straight repeal of Obamacare.
The seven traitors were Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn.; Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va.; Susan Collins, R-Maine; Dean Heller, R-Nev.; Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska; Rob Portman, R-Ohio; and of course John McCain, R-Ariz.
Remember their names.
And also remember why they betrayed you.
These people are firmly in the pockets of “special interest” groups. These special interets groups make a lot of money when government policies increase the amount you need to pay – in this case for health coverage.
Conversely things that save you money, like getting rid of Obamacare, take money out of the pockets of these special interest groups.
It’s another example of that Jerry Maguire movie line “Show me the money”. If you follow the money trail and see who benefits, it makes it a lot easier to discover why these Senators betrayed you.
So thanks to traitors like John McCain your health premiums will continue to rise and your deductables will also, meaning more expensive healthcare for much less coverage.
And forget about getting a raise in your wages. The money you should be getting in your wage packets will instead go into the pockets of the insurance companies, simply because most insurance is provided by employers, and as premiums rise they will have less money for their workers.
In 2016, 6 million Americans decided to pay the penalty rather than buy insurance. That figure will increase. So too will the numbers of uninsured.
All thanks to traitors within the good old GOP.
