The despised Obamacare will be repealed and replaced, but what should have been an easy task has been delayed yet again because of traitors within the Republican Party.
mccain-angryOne of the worst offenders is who else but John McCain, the elderly Senator from Arizona. For another time he has betrayed his President, his party, his constituents and indeed America. McCain dramatically ended a previous, late night effort to pass an Obamacare repeal bill with a ‘no’ vote in July.
McCain’s pathetic excuse that he could not vote for the Graham-Cassidy bill “in good conscience” should be treated with the contempt it deserves. If McCain were indeed worried about his conscience he would have honored his election promise to the people who elected him.
President Trump lashed out at McCain early Saturday saying, “John McCain never had any intention of voting for this Bill, which his Governor loves. He campaigned on Repeal & Replace. Let Arizona down! Arizona had a 116% increase in ObamaCare premiums last year, with deductibles very high. Chuck Schumer sold John McCain a bill of goods. Sad”
McCain let it be known on Friday that he would not support the repeal and replace proposal even though it had come from his Senate friend, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy.
McCain-ObamaThe Graham-Cassidy bill would have redirected health care funds to the states and give them more control over how to use the money.
Under current Senate budget rules, the Republicans have until September 30 to pass legislation with a 50-vote margin instead of 60 votes, meaning just three Republican senators could scuttle the bill.
As we said before in a previous report, it’s time to call time on Senator John McCain – a Republican In Name Only if ever there was one!
