Fires Acting Attorney General
Obama appointee and acting Attorney General Sally Yates was fired by President Donald Trump on Monday.
Yates’ defiance of the executive order was a clear betrayal of the President and unacceptable behavior by anyone employed in that position.
By refusing to defend the president’s executive order to restrict immigration and refugees from seven nations in the Middle East that have a high-risk of state sponsored terrorism, Yates clearly failed to do her own job.
Not only that, but she compounded her error by instructing her staff at the Justice Department not to uphold the new travel ban.
Yates’ scandalous conduct follows in the wake of the disgraceful behavior of former AG Loretta Lynch who brought the office into disrepute over the Crooked Hillary email server affair.
Meantime President Trump has appointed US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Dana Boente, to the post.
Boente commented, “I am honored to serve President Trump in this role until Senator Sessions is confirmed. I will defend and enforce the laws of our country to ensure that our people and our nation are protected.”
The delay in appointing Sen. Sessions illustrates once again the Democrats’ complete disregard for the safety of the nation in favor of playing cheap political games.
Minority leader Chuck Schumer has said he will oppose every single cabinet member of Trump’s, which is a clear indication Democrats plan to make every issue going forward a political fight rather than do what is best for the country.
It is up to the Republicans in Senate and Congress to make sure President Trump receives their full support.
