Trust In Media @ Historic Low
A recent Gallup Poll shows that public trust in the media has fallen to an all-time historic low. Pew Research got more or less the same result a few days earlier.
This extraordinarily poor result is undoubtedly due to the media’s bias against Donald Trump. Never before have we been subjected to such a one-sided media who, because of their bias, are completely failing to report what is really happening.
The media twists facts to deliberately show Donald Trump in the worst possible light. At the same time they either ignore or try to minimize all the scandals associated with Crooked Hillary – the most corrupt candidate to ever run for president.
Trump has a few supporters in the media, like Sean Hannity, Eric Bollings, or Judge Jeanine Pirro on Fox, but apart from these few you would be hard pressed to find a reporter anywhere who will give Trump a fair hearing. The bias on CNN is so bad that it is now known to almost everyone as the Clinton New Network. CBS and others are not far behind.
The bias is so blatant, viewers and readers know it. They don’t like it. And they won’t forgive it.
Pew also found that the mainstream media is coming under more and more financial pressure due to the increasing distrust by its readers. It used to be they had it all to themselves, but today there are other sources of information, mostly internet based, that readers increasingly prefer.
During the first six months of this year, newspaper advertising dropped by 29 percent and ad revenue on broadcast stations declined by 12 percent in the same period. Radio advertising also took a hit, falling by 23 percent from January through July. This in an election year when both political parties and their candidates are pouring tens of millions of dollars into their coffers so their financial position should not be deteriorating – if they were being fair and objective, but they’re not.
The Gallup study also showed that the loss of trust is across all demographics, including age and political party. In the last year, Republicans’ loss of trust in the media dropped from 32 percent to just 14 percent, while Democrats’ fell from 55 percent to 51 percent. Independents also lost trust in the mainstream media, with their trust falling from 33 percent to 30 percent.
Gallup suggested that the media’s coverage of the present national election has served to remove all doubt about its bias. It said, “The divisive presidential election this year may be corroding Americans’ trust and confidence in the media, particularly among Republicans who may believe the “mainstream media” are too hyperfocused on every controversial statement or policy proposal from Trump while devoting far less attention to controversies surrounding the Clinton campaign.”
It continued to explain that this “hyperfocus” accelerated a downward trend that has been happening for the past decade.
Part Of The Establishment
More than 90 percent of the so-called news being pumped out by the mainstream media is controlled by only six corporations:
- Time Warner (CNN, Home Box Office, Time Inc., Turner Broadcasting System, Sports Illustrated, Fortune and People magazines);
- Walt Disney (ABC Television Network, Disney Publishing, ESPN, The Disney Channel, The History Channel and Walt Disney Pictures);
- Viacom (Paramount Pictures, Paramount Home Entertainment, and Black Entertainment Television);
- News Corporation (Dow Jones & Company, Fox Television, the New York Post, TV Guide, Fox Business Network, four units of 20th Century Fox, the Wall Street Journal, and Fox Broadcasting Company);
- CBS Corporation (CBS News, CBS Sports, CBS Television Network, CBS Radio, and Simon & Shuster publishers); and
- Comcast (NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, USA Network, and Universal Pictures).
Almost all of them have been so blatant in their never-ending, and often grossly unfair, attacks on Donald Trump that they have left themselves nowhere to hide when challenged.
The question is, why are they attacking Trump so viciously?
The answer is very simple and glaringly obvious. Trump is the first presidential candidate for decades who is not part of the establishment that controls the media. Therefore they have no control over him and they just can’t stand it.
But, despite the fact that the MSM definitely did not plan it this way, their blatant bias against Donald Trump is actually playing right into his hands. It has created Trump the underdog, the sole warrior fighting against the elite establishment. It has created a sympathetic and deep emotional bond between Trump and, not just his core supporters, but also all those millions of Americans who have an innate sense of justice and fair play. Thanks in part to the media bias Trump is no longer just a candidate, he represents a Movement.
While Crooked Hillary is trying to hide her incompetence and failures by heaping personal attacks upon Trump – assisted enthusiastically by the media – he has put forward policies that the establishment hates, but that the American people love.
Despite all the odds and all the obstacles, Trump is not just prevailing, his support is increasing. You are part of this great Movement. Redouble your efforts for another fifty days or so and there will be only one winner.
