The People Have Spoken
After his victory in Tuesday night’s Oregon primary Donald Trump is just 76 delegates away from clinching the Republican presidential nomination.
Trump is the only candidate left in the race, so each contest inevitably brings him closer to officially securing the party’s nomination.
There is now no doubt that Donald Trump will get to the 1,237 total and beyond it during the final round of primaries – Washington on May 24 and the five remaining (South Dakota, New Mexico, New Jersey, Montana and California) on June 7.
As the only active candidate still in the race Trump is all but a lock to win the 347 delegates yet to be awarded, meaning he should end the race with more than 1,400 delegates.
If anyone tries any crooked moves at the convention after that they better watch out. The people have spoken. This time they will not be denied.
