Cheney Will Support Trump
GW & Daddy Bush may be having trouble coming to terms with the fact that Jeb! was soundly beaten by Donald Trump, but GW’s former Vice President Dick Cheney doesn’t seem to have the same problem.
Cheney told CNN Special Correspondent Jamie Gangel that he has always supported the GOP nominee and will do so this year as well.
This is a significant and an important endorsement for Trump. Cheney is a senior establishment Republican and his support will undoubtedly influence others to do likewise.
There is still intense resistance from some senior members of the GOP establishment, but the way things have panned out with the exit of Cruz and Kasich, there is little they do but gripe.
The timing of the announcement by Cheney of his support of Trump is also noteworthy since it came just a day after House Speaker Paul Ryan announced in true RINO form that he is “just not ready” to back Trump. Maybe Ryan still thinks Bush and his cronies can make him the nominee at the Convention. He has said he wouldn’t accept it, so he obviously would if given the chance.
But even with the elite’s plans in tatters, they will thrash about for a while, refusing to accept reality. They will go through a few more desperate and stupid plans like running loser Romney as a third party candidate or trying to parachute Ryan in as a candidate no one has voted for and no one wants.
Eventually most of their minions will drift away towards supporting Trump as the party nominee and it will dawn on the rest that the people have rejected their power stranglehold within the Republican Party.
For the moment, however, the ‘fasten seatbelt’ sign is still on. There will probably be some more turbulence ahead.
